Charles Staro, Honorary Member of the Hudson Mohawk Figure Skating Club, formerly the RPI Figure Skating Club, died on September 26, 2007.

Mr. Staro was a former President of the RPI Figure Skating Club and held many offices throughout his several years of service to the Club. Charles also found time to volunteer in numerous civic and social organizations.

Among his many positions, he was also the Sanction Officer for the United Sates Figure Skating Association in our region. For many years he was the announcer at many of our Club events. Even after retirement, he was always willing to help in any way that he could.

We recall his love and service to the Club each year at our Garren Invitational Event with the annual Charles B. Staro Award for Senior Ladies Free Skating. He will be missed.
