CJS Resources

As a reminder, the Component Judging System (CJS) will officially replace the 6.0 judging system, effective July 1, 2026. This transition was approved by the 2025 Governing Council, and educational materials are now available to support officials as competitions begin using CJS this summer.

CJS is designed to provide clearer feedback to skaters, coaches and parents by evaluating performances in three areas: technical elements, composition/presentation and skating skills. While the scoring structure is new, the goal is straightforward: to create a system that is easier to understand, more consistent across events and more helpful for skater development.

We encourage club leaders and board members to help share this information with your members, especially skaters who participate in Compete USA, Aspire or other events that were previously judged under 6.0. Clubs may wish to include this information in newsletters, website updates or emails to members preparing for summer and fall competitions.

3. An eLearning course has been posted on the eLearning University and is available through Members Only to all officials and Coach I.C.E. members.

   
   

Please note, there have been no changes made to Theatre On Ice or Showcase. These programs will continue to use the current rules and version of CJS from the previous season.
