GRADUATING SENIORS PROGRAM AWARDS RECORD NUMBER OF RECIPIENTS

Every spring, the Program Development Committee acknowledges high school seniors who have been involved in figure skating through its Graduating Seniors Program. This year, a record 967 skaters received awards, which recognize accomplishments at all levels of figure skating in high school, from passing the pre-preliminary moves in the field test to competing internationally.

Continuing to skate through high school requires a tremendous commitment that isn’t as recognized as other prep sports. The Graduating Seniors Program continues to be a fitting way to share the continued hard work and involvement that is required by each skater.

Skaters are eligible for four different levels of the award based on competitive history or testing level: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Platinum-level award recipients must have competed internationally in any of the five disciplines, competed at the U.S. Championships at the novice, junior or senior level or made the National High Performance Development Team at the novice level.
