Kaitlyn started figure skating through a Learn to Skate program when she was 9 years old.  She quickly fell in love with the sport and has been taking private lessons with coach Glenn Ziehnert for the past 5 years.  Under the guidance of her coach and fueled by her passion for

figure skating, Kaitlyn has grown and developed as a skater. Her first competition was at the Skaneateles Invitational in December of 2021, where she won first place. Kaitlyn has competed and medaled in more than 30 events since that first win at Skaneateles.

Throughout the 2025 season, Kaitlyn competed at the Juvenile level where she finished 7th on the east coast.  This qualified her to compete in the Excel National Event held in Colorado Springs, CO this past July. At Nationals, Kaitlyn earned a special judges pin for receiving a +3 GOE on her sit spin element.  Recently, Kaitlyn passed her pre-silver skating skill test and is preparing for the upcoming season. Beyond competing, Kaitlyn’s personality and smile light up the ice as she skates in several shows hosted by HMFSC including one of her favorites, the Albany Tree Lighting.

When Kaitlyn is not spending time on the ice, she loves to travel, she enjoys golfing, swimming, listening to music and hanging out with her friends. Kaitlyn is currently in National Junior Honors Society for school & she enjoys giving back to her community through volunteer work with Learn to Skate programs & participating in Toys for Tots.
